dvlp.energy is building the next generation web-GIS platform for clean energy development. Our systems process and visualize location-specific datasets, enabling developers to identify optimal sites for utility-scale renewable projects in minutes instead of months. We're solving complex computational challenges around large-scale geospatial data processing to drive smarter, data-driven decisions in renewable energy development.
We're looking for a Data Engineer to evolve our data infrastructure and ETL processes. You'll be instrumental in maintaining our competitive edge through robust data processing pipelines and innovative data solutions.
* Design and implement scalable ETL pipelines for complex geospatial datasets
* Enhance our data infrastructure to ensure robust and timely dataset updates
* Support software engineers to ensure performant queries from our application
* Develop and maintain data quality processes
* Research and implement new processes for sourcing data and generating insights, e.g. leveraging AI capabilities or enabling advanced analytical use cases
* Work independently while collaborating with other team members
* Strong Python experience, particularly with geospatial libraries (geopandas)
* Experience with ETL pipeline development and orchestration using modern technologies
* Hands-on experience with Postgres (PostGIS is a plus)
* Practical knowledge of cloud services (we use AWS) for data storage and processing; serverless technologies nice to have
* Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently: gather requirements, research solutions and implement feedback
* Demonstrated experience or strong motivation to work in a startup environment
* Excellent communication skills in English
* Work on one of the most critical challenges or our time: driving the energy transition to mitigate severe climate change and keeping our planet habitable
* Receive a competitive salary reflecting your level of experience
* Experience a dynamic start-up environment with high levels of interaction and support in a young and international team
* Expand your skills by working with innovative technologies
* Choose your preferred work setup: working from home or our office in Berlin. We like meeting in person but leave lots of flexibility for you to decide where you’re working from on any day
* Enjoy regular team events and 30 days of holidays
Please send us an email with your CV, mentioning your motivation to apply and your earliest availability to: contact@dvlp.energy.
